Intensive English Program

inlingua Vancouver's Intensive English Program is a course for students who want to improve their English language skills through two types of lessons. Improve your speaking, listening, pronunciation, grammar, reading, writing, vocabulary skills and more.

IP1 – Intensive Program is an English course for students who want to learn English in a fun, dynamic and interactive way. Intensive Program students can take inlingua Vancouver´s morning Speaking Lessons, where they will be improving your speaking skills and your grammar, pronunciation, reading, writing and vocabulary skills. We use a special teaching technique called the inlingua method. The method allows each student to speak English, practice using target language and progress quickly.

In the afternoon, Intensive English Program students can choose from a wide range of Elective Lessons such as Speaking, Grammar Plus, English Brush Up, Pronunciation, Fluency Through Accuracy, Introduction to Business or Fluency Through Narrative, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM. As you learn English, you will become accurate, fluent and confident in your English ability.

Instead of taking the morning Speaking Lessons plus one Elective Lesson, students in this program may choose to take one of inlingua Vancouver's specialized courses such as Business English or inlingua's Test Preparation Courses like Cambridge test preparation, TOEFL preparation, TOEIC preparation, or a TESOL course. These courses typically run from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

Program Schedule

The Intensive Program includes 30 lessons per week (20 inlingua Speaking Lessons + 10 Elective Lessons). This program starts at 9:00 AM and finishes at 2:30 PM, from Monday to Friday.

30 Lessons = 22.5 Hours per week.

On the first day of the course, all students will be interviewed and take a placement test to determine their level, from 1A to 5B, for the morning Speaking lessons. Each Level lasts 4 weeks.

Students can start their course any week.

Program Requirements

There are no requirements to take this program. This program is good for any level of student who wants to learn English. On the first day of school all students will take a inlingua Placement Test and have an interview to determine their level.

Testing and Examination

In the morning Speaking Lessons, there are 3 weekly quizzes for levels 1A through 2B. For levels 3A through 5B, students write 2 quizzes and do one mid-term presentation. Students at all levels write a final exam at the end of the term and have a final presentation.
