Your First Day at School

The first day at inlingua Vancouver is a great experience: Meet our instructors and activities coordinators, learn all you need about our language school, take tours around the school and downtown Vancouver, take our placement test and interview and choose your afternoon lessons.

On your first day, come to our Gastown Campus at 8:00 AM. Our Gastown campus address: #300-150 Water Street, Vancouver, BC, V6B 1B2, Canada. You will learn all you need to know about our language school. You will meet our instructors and activities coordinators and meet some of your fellow international students. It's going to be a busy day! See the schedule below.

Your First Day Schedule

1. Have a placement interview and a written test. These will be used to place you in an appropriate level for the morning Speaking classes, Elective lessons and our other Full Time Programs.
2. Get an orientation for our school. All of the inlingua Vancouer policies will be explained to you. You and other students will learn what to do in case of an emergency, and at lunch time, you will have pizza for lunch.
3. Choose your afternoon lessons.
4. Take a tour of the school campuses and downtown Vancouver. You'll get your first view of the central shopping district, nearby movie theatres, restaurants and art galleries, as well as the city's popular tourist attractions such as Stanley Park, Canada Place and English Bay. Your orientation on the first day will finish at around 3:00 PM.

Students who feel the level for their lessons is inappropriate for any reason undergo a further interview and / or another written test. The level can be changed within the first week.

At the end of the first day or the following morning, you will receive the result of your tests, your Student ID Card and the first set of inlingua materials. Your English lessons start on your second day.

At inlingua Vancouver, you will speak English from your very first lesson!
